Laura Edgerton has practiced immigration law for more than a decade. She brings a high level of corporate immigration experience to the firm along with a strong commitment to ethics and the desire and ability to help her clients achieve their goals. Laura is well-known in the business and immigration communities for her ability to solve complex problems involving the employment of international personnel in the U.S., as well as her persistence and creativity in finding workable solutions for her clients.
Laura is frequently invited to speak at national immigration conferences on such topics as immigration basics, procedures for obtaining permanent residence, and H-1B visa and employment verification/I-9 issues. She has authored/edited numerous immigration articles in leading publications and has been interviewed extensively in the business and local press on immigration issues. She is currently the Chair of the Carolinas Chapter of AILA and a member of the Board of Governors for the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). She is the former National Chair of AILA's Young Lawyers Division. She also recently served as a member of the Board of Advisors for NCSU's College of Humanities and Social Sciences and previously served on the Corporate Recruitment Committee for the Wake County Economic Development Program.
