The Wait Continues – May 2011 Visa Bulletin

U.S. Department of State released the May 2011 Visa Bulletin. Here’s a breakdown of how things have changed since April.

Employment-Based Category Two (EB-2):

China – advanced 9 days

India – almost 2 months

Employment-Based Category Three (EB-3):

All Other Chargeability Areas – advanced 1 month

China – advanced 1 ½ months

India – advanced 7 days

Philippines – advanced 1 month

Mexico – advanced 4 months

As you can tell, visa availability hasn’t changed much in the last one month. The biggest mover was Mexico in the EB-3 category. In addition, the DOS states that demand by applicants who are ‘upgrading’ their status from EB-3 to EB-2 is very high, thus making it difficult predict forward movement in the cut-off dates for China and India.

So the wait continues…
