On April 20, 2009, U.S. CitizenshipThe country in which a person is born (and has not renounced or lost citizenship) or naturalized and to which that person owes allegiance and by which he or she is entitled to be protected. and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced that it has received approximately 44,000 H-1B petitions counting toward the 65,000 regular H-1B cap. Additionally, USCIS has received approximately 20,000 petitions for aliens with advanced degrees. They will continue to accept H-1B applications for both the regular and advanced-degree H-1B caps until the caps are reached.
If you are going to file an H-1B application on behalf of a potential employee, we recommend that you do so quickly. We will provide additional updates on www.bashyamspiro.com as they become available.
